ABOUT YORKE HOME
Yorke Home is an idea created during the global pandemic of 2020.
Company founder Davinia was 6-months pregnant, in strict isolation due to government guidelines and wanted something to keep her occupied. As a fan of home interiors, she decided to make herself some candles for fun. She ordered a candle making kit from Amazon and started learning the basics.

She documented her candle making journey on her instagram stories and over the course of a week got quite a few messages from followers asking whether they were for sale. So Davinia set up an Etsy and listed her first batch of candles for sale.
Thinking she might get one or two orders, she posted her Etsy details to an instagram story and invited her followers to buy her candles, and to her utter amazement she got over 100 orders in the first two weeks.
Yorke Home was born!
Those two weeks were the best induction into candle making she could have ever wished for. She learnt everything she needed to know; joined forums, spoke to candle suppliers, learnt about different waxes, scent throws, moulds and melts. There were many mistakes but each was a valuable lesson that helped Davinia develop her skills literally overnight.

An instagram account was created for the candles, which then grew into this website.. and the rest is history! ​
